Anxiety

Stress and worry consume every thought of your day. It feels like you’re stuck in an endless cycle of self-doubt and constant worry, fear, or dread that spirals out of control.

You may find it difficult to sleep at night as your mind is always racing with “to do” lists for the next day or things you did not get done the day before.

You may find yourself unconsciously putting yourself down which leads to anxiety and feelings of not being good enough.

Sometimes, it seems like all you’re doing is struggling through life. It can be a challenge to have people understand you, as they can judge you too quickly. Sometimes your first impression isn't the one you want them to remember, but they do. You want to stop apologizing for asking questions because you are told you apologize too much. You often feel stupid for asking questions, so you shy away from it. You want people to know how capable you are, but you don't feel that way.

Imagine what your life would look like if you woke up and were not consumed with anxiety from just thinking about what lies ahead in your day. Envision what you could accomplish.

When you Seek Counseling for Anxiety With Me:

1. Discover where the anxiety began for you, so you can begin to understand it more and see any patterns that increase your symptoms.

2. How does this affect your everyday life?

3. Coping strategies to help decrease anxiety so you can stop worrying about what others think about you

Therapy for Anxiety: The Process

·      Counseling for anxiety is intended for clients whose identity may have gotten lost by their anxiety.

·      Together, we will work on your anxiety and begin to peel back its layers, so you can begin to live a less anxious life.

·      We will meet online weekly (or as needed, based on your needs and comfort level) for a minimum of 6-8 weeks and work together on reducing your anxiety.

Here is what to expect:

I offer a free 15-minute consultation via phone or online.

Technology: Similar to traditional therapy, talking online is face-to-face, and sessions are kept confidential by using a secure encrypted HIPAA compliant platform. As long as you a front-facing camera on your phone, tablet, or computer, you can take advantage of online counseling. Many clients appreciate the ease of access, avoiding going to an office, parking and avoiding the commute, and being able to not have to miss any other appointments. This can be done from the safety of your own home or anywhere.

Consultation: Initially I offer a free 20-minute consultation to get a feel for the type of services you are looking for. Once we decide we would like to work together, we will schedule a more in-depth session. You will receive intake forms and other paperwork via email for you to complete.

Intake session: For our intake session together, we will talk more about what you want to get out of therapy, individual goals you have for yourself, and help you address your concerns and reasons that brought you to therapy. We will focus on what you want to get out of therapy and identify individual goals you want to accomplish during our work together. It is my hope that our therapeutic relationship and rapport building will take shape during this session and that it outlines what future sessions can look like.

Although there are many benefits to online counseling, there are also risks and it is not always a good match for everyone. If you are interested in learning more about the process and to see if online counseling is a good fit for you, we can discuss it during our free 20-minute initial phone or video call.

Therapy for Anxiety: Who Benefits Most

Therapy for Anxiety is best for those who are tired of struggling with anxiety and what seems like a never-ending cycle of doubt and worry.

I am a firm believer that the right fit is essential for developing rapport and to do work that can leave a lasting impact. If I feel I cannot help, I will refer out. Alternatively, if you feel you are not benefiting from the service I provide, I will prefer referrals for hopefully a better fit.

You will benefit from anxiety therapy if:

·      You struggle with anxiety and cannot think of a day where you did not have anxiety

·      You want to see a reduction in anxiety

·      You want to add coping skills to your knowledge so you can better handle anxiety when anxiety happens
